CIRCUIT 02/2013 (08.02. - 03.03.2013)

CIARAM GRANGER  (Adelaide, AUS)

Ciaram Granger is a musician singer songwriter and local Adelaide boy. At 24 years of age he is one of the young blokes playing his way around Australia's Pubs and live music venues. He is a multi-instrumentalist but when the floor is his he’ll deliver his tunes with guitar, lap steel, harmonica and stompbox accompaniment. With a love of the blues and his own unique foot stomping delivery, you will leave blown away. He is a contented, chilled out surfer and muso!

Influences: R.l. Burnside, willie Dixon, seasick Steve, son house, Mason Jennings, The Beautiful Girls, Jack Johnson, John Butler, Ash Grunwald, Dave Matthew

“Ciaram Granger played another instrument you don’t hear very often; the slide guitar. His skill on the instrument was exceptional, and his barefoot, flannelette waring appearance matched his blues like sound, reminiscent of fellow surf lovers Xavier Rudd and Ash Grunwald. ” —  The Pedestrian Review

“Part of the latest wave of sensational young players”
—  The Chandelier Room

Joyce the Librarian (Bristol, UK)
Joyce the Librarian are a group from Bristol, England, that will be represented by their singer and guitarist Martin Callingham during this tour.. None of them are called Joyce, nor do they work in libraries.
Pigeonholed loosely between folk and indie, they have caused a genuine stir on the acoustic scene, winning fans from a variety of key underground sources and in 2013, they’re set to win a lot more. The album They May Put Land Between Us will be released on “SONGS & WHISPERS“ in April 2013 as the first co-relaese with Folkwit Records.
The first single from this record, “Follow Me, I’m Right Behind You”, sums up Joyce The Librarian’s songwriting. Showcasing honest, personal and acutely melodic song-writing, there is no pretence or allusions to passing trends. Sufjan Stevens, M Ward and Simon & Garfunkel inform the group’s sound but ultimately theirs is one entirely of their own.

"Honest, personal and acutely melodic song-writing, it’s gentle and begging to be played more" - Indie London
“…this is a bold debut that will find favour in both indie and traditional music circles, making a pitch for the narrow territory between, say, Laura Marling, Noah & the Whale and the godfathers of it all, Belle & Sebastian.”
- Nick Churchill, FATEA
