Day 7: Bring on the house concerts!

Headed into Bremen today to do a little shopping. Ben likes our porchboard so much he's looking to pick up one of his own so our first stop was Hoins-Intermusik, one of the musical instrument shops we had visited last week. Unfortunately they didn't have any but we'll keep looking. Then as we walked to Litfass for a cappuccino I got a bit sidetracked by a corset store - who can resist German lingerie? The rest of the afternoon we spent walking around the Bremen Marktplatz, admiring the amazing architecture, and trying not to drive the car through pedestrian-only areas. Still working on understanding all the German street signs!

That evening was our first house concert. Calle was our host and he works at a local record shop. Bobbo and Ben were instantly captivated by Calle's cd collection. Bet they could have spent all night browsing through that! After a lovely meal Ben started off the first set. During his song "Free as a Bird" a little bird flew right up to the door behind him and sat and listened for a minute before flying off again. It was a magical little moment! We played a fun set after and stayed to chat a while with the guests. These small house shows are a wonderful way to really connect with people. Looking forward to doing more of them!
