Day 4: The Fallen Stars go to Holland!

Just an hour's drive away from Osnabruck is a town called Hengelo in the Netherlands. That's where we found a little bar by the name of De Nul where they host Sunday afternoon concerts. The crowd was fairly small but very welcoming and we got to spend some time chatting with folks before we went on.

After the show they invited us to come play at another bar around the corner, Lamboojhuis. Tired and hungry and not feeling so great, we said "We'll see how we feel after we get some food" and found a little Turkish restaurant nearby. The shwarma, falafel, schnitzel and Turkish coffee was amazing, but then food coma started to kick in. With a two hour drive ahead of us, we decided to call it a day and head home. Or so we thought.

When we went to make our apologies to the bar about not staying to do a second show we found all of the people from the first show and more there waiting for us. How could we possibly say no? So we set up a couple of chairs and microphones, grabbed the acoustic guitars and did an "artist in the round" type show, taking turns back and forth, chiming in on harmonies and percussion on each other's songs, ending with the whole bar singing a countried-up version of REO Speedwagon's "Take It On The Run." Needless to say, it was a fantastic night and we were all glad that we decided to stay. Thank you Holland for making our first visit amazing! I hope we can come back and see you again soon!
